In 1908, Marquis Mills established the Rubber Shoe Company, which later became Converse. The company specialized in manufacturing shoes with rubber soles for men, women, and children. Converse first began manufacturing casual shoes in 1910, and by 1915, the company shifted its focus to manufacturing footwear for athletes. Converse, which had previously dominated the world of basketball sneakers for the preceding 30 years, became an integral part of the music scene in the 1980s and 1990s as a result of recruiting Charles "Chuck" Taylor to the company. Converse's One Star and Cons models which were designed for the basketball courts have become a part of skateboarding culture all over the world, with basketball defined in its DNA.

Since its initial release in 1974, the One Star has become the most popular shoe in the world's skateparks and has achieved iconic status in the skateboarding community. This model was designed for street and skate culture and was also widely admired by magazines such as Trasher.
Converse has been seen on the feet of some of the world's top hip-hop and rock stars over the years, and it has been adopted by various subcultures and continues to expand its influence today, 100 years later. Converse has collaborated with music producers, artists, and fashion designers over the years, with many limited-edition collections in the works. Popular collections include GOLF le FLEUR, Neighborhood, Hello Kitty, Comme des Garcons, and J.W. Anderson.

Eren Perakende obtained Converse distribution rights in Turkey, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, and Georgia in 2015. In September 2022, Converse opened its first store in Izmir İstinyepark under the distribution of Eren Perakende.
Converse Turkey continues to serve the brand's fans by operating 15 stores in Turkey, including one flagship location.
