After securing a loan of $850 million from Türkiye Garanti Bankası and Türkiye İş Bankası in 2007, Eren Enerji began the construction of a 1360MW coal-fired power plant in Zonguldak.

Modern Biomass Power Plant (MOBES) entered service with an initial capacity of 6 megawatts of electrical output.
With the opening of the Modern Cardboard Eskişehir plant, Eren Enerji increased its capacity to 535 thousand tons and maintained its position as Turkey's largest producer of corrugated cardboard.

Modern Energy invested USD 110 million to build Turkey's first solid waste incineration plant in Çorlu. This plant has the capacity to generate 27 MW of electricity or 100 tons of steam.
Modern Karton finished the construction of its new paper mill with an investment of 350 million euros and maintained its position as Turkey's largest paper manufacturer with a total production capacity of 1.5 million tons. After investing USD 400 million,
Medcem Cement opened a cement plant in Mersin with an annual clinker production capacity of 3.5 million tons.
